I’m a pretty firm believer that there are infinite incredible experiences waiting for us out in the world. Every trip I take, another moment in time feels magical. Here are a few recent travel experiences that I can’t recommend enough.
- Sahara Desert Tour
In March of 2023, Matt and I spent a week in Morocco. During that trip, we did a Luxury Desert Tour from Marrakech to Erg Chebbi through Top Desert. I have a whole blog post about Morocco coming soon so I won’t get into everything here but I can say – DEFINITELY WORTH IT.
2. Epernay – Visiting France’s Champagne Region
Epernay and Reims are both a short drive or train ride from Paris. We spent a day in Epernay during our last trip to Paris and it’s some of my favorite memories from that trip. The tours and tastings available are some of the best tours we’ve done.
3. Food Tour – Athens, Greece
This suggestion should really read as “food tour” because we’ve done them in multiple countries and have loved every single one, but for the sake of this list, I am specifying a food tour in Athens. Most likely if you are visiting one of the Greek Islands by plane then you’ll fly through Athens and I recommend spending a couple days on the front and back end of your trip to experience a different vibe. And then while you’re there – eat all the delicious food.
4. The Actun Tunichil Muknal Tour – Belize Caves
One time Matt and I were talking travel like we often do and we asked each other to think of our number one favorite travel experience if we *had* to rank them. We both thought of our answers and locked them in – and both chose the tour we did of the Actun Tunichil Muknal. Pictures aren’t allowed once you start the tour so this one of us at the beginning of the trail will have to do, but I can’t recommend this experience more. It’s cave exploring but on another level – Belize tourism has a few videos that explain it better than this paragraph will but it’s an unforgettable experience.
5. Lisbon Photoshoot
This one is probably influenced by the photographer in me, but I loved getting pictures done in another country. These were taken by the incredible Diane Sotero Photography.
6. Hot air balloons in Cappadocia
The 3:30am wake up call comes quick but riding in a sky full of hot air balloons is one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. The town is definitely geared towards tourists, but sometimes I think that’s okay. Certain activities have become popular for a reason and this is one of them – worth it.
7. Eat at an Iconic Restaurant – Nice, France
I made the reservations weeks if not months in advance and the experience did not disappoint. Eating over the water at Le Plongeoir was another unforgettable experience.
